Had my first swim at Cabrillo beach, San Pedro, looking out over to Catalina island. The water temperature is heavenly- cool and refreshing but not bitter. And with 30’c air temp, its a welcome relief.

The wind here seems to pick up in the afternoon, hence the 10.30pm swim start time, to get the best chance of landing early afternoon whilst avoiding sunset, which is ‘wildlife’ wake up time. Im really looking forward to getting going- still looking like wednesday evening PST. I will post a tracker that hopefully you can watch in real time, or look at my path through the water when I’m done! Technology is awesome!

T-shirts arrived the morning we left, so they will be sent out when we get back. Thrilled to be moving forward!
